Sorry

How do you say sorry in German? I've heard in songs people say "'tschuldigung".. or something like that... but I don't want to go sounding like an idiot.

btw, I'm a beginner at German and I'm also trying to teach myself, so sorry if my questions seems kinda obvious.

Can I get a HELL YES!!!!

Gov. Gen. Michaëlle Jean has named a leading abortion rights crusader to the Order of Canada

Notable quotes:

"Now 85, Morgentaler, a Polish Holocaust survivor who immigrated to Montreal after the war, opened his first abortion clinic in 1969 and performed thousands of procedures, which were illegal at the time.

"Morgentaler, a trained family physician, argued that access to abortion was a basic human right and women should not have to risk death at the hands of an untrained professional in order to end their pregnancies.

"Morgentaler's clinics were constantly raided, and one in Toronto was firebombed. Morgentaler was arrested several times and spent months in jail as he fought his case at all court levels in Canada.

"His victory came on Jan. 28, 1988, when the Supreme Court of Canada struck down Canada’s abortion law. That law, which required a woman who wanted an abortion to appeal to a three-doctor hospital abortion committee, was declared unconstitutional."

Women finally get another win! First, recognition for those who provided abortions to save lives! Next.. EQUALITY!!

Mir vs. mich

I was wondering what's the difference between mir and mich was in German. I know that they both mean "me", but I don't know when to use them.
I think that it has something to do with "to me" vs just "me".. but that's just a guess.

HELP!

I need somebody
HELP!
Not just anybody
HELP!
You know I need someone
HE-E'E-E'ELP!

It would seem that if I want to submit a story or whatever to an American magazine/publisher I should send a SASE. Unfortunately Canadian postage stamps will not work to send something from the USA to Canada. I went to the USPS website, but they are currently not shipping to international locations. (BTW, it still irks me that they classify Canada as "International" when we have separate rates JUST for the USA which are cheaper than any other International location).

Anyway.

I couldn't really figure out from the USPS website how much it costs tosend a business letter (normal business envelope) from the US to Canada. I *think* it's 72 cents.

TO MY AMERICAN ONLINE FRIENDS:

1.. Would one of you be willing to mail me a bunch of stamps? I prefer ones so I only need to apply one stamp to the envelope without paying more than I have to.

2. I can pay back using PayPal, or I can send a money order. PayPal is a hell of a lot faster, trust me.

Also, is there an easier way than this for future reference?

THANK YOu!!

Name: Jesse

Age: Eighteen

Location: Southern Illinois

About me: My friends call me a “nerdfest in an iron happy bubble,” and it’s a fairly accurate description. I’m a voracious reader, aspiring photographer, struggling writer, epic cosplayer, eternal optimist, happy drunk, and part-time gamer.

About the journal: My journal is a mixture of my personal life, my doings on the internet, some fandom related things, and daily Twitters. Anything generally explicit or personal is kept under f-lock with appropriate warnings. I tend to post several times a day every few days. I read my friend’s list frequently and comment a lot.

I write: A lot of fan fiction currently, and mostly for Final Fantasy VIII and Loveless. I tend to branch out into other fandoms randomly, especially when I find something new. I do write original short stories and drabbles from time to time.

I don’t write: Poetry. I was never any good at it.

I like to read: Anything I can get my hands on! I’m not much a fan of historical nonfiction, but other than that, I’ll read anything. I’m really not too picky at all.

Favorite authors: Chuck Palahniuk, Mitch Albom, Poppy Z. Brite

the fireworks question

It's my first July 4th in Pittsburgh. There's a slight chance I might take my son to see fireworks, tonight. Where are places to see them from? I have no idea.

So explain to me

WHY two tickets to the New Kids concert is almost $600 when they haven't been popular since mall hair was all the rage?? I WANNA GO TO THAT FREAKING CONCERT, but even if the money fairy plops $600 in my lap, I'm using it towards seeing a certain dipped in sexy Californian.

The concert is around my birthday. What a better way to celebrate being 31 by partying with the New Kids??? I think you all should start a Connie seeing the New Kids fund. *nods*

Speaking of sexy Californians.... he dedicated This song ) to me. *squeals* So yeah, it's safe to say that we're back together. We're still taking things slow and talk of getting together has been put on hold for now. I was pushing pretty hard for us to get together, but in reality, I've got some issues that I need to concentrate on first before we meet so I don't totally fuck things up.

Our communication isn't perfect yet, but it's getting there. I just need to stop trying to force things. And get used to the fact that just because I have a bitch about something he does that annoys me, he's not going to leave.

I broke down about how I really feel about being bipolar. There's a bipolar podcast - Shadow and Light - and I love her. She was asking a question that she wanted her listeners to fill in -- "What I hate about being bipolar is" and she filled it in with her own answer and it was about how her reality gets screwed up and how she asks her husband to fill things in for her. I think it's too much to ask for one person to do that, because it's a big responsibility. I told Kinte that and he put me in check. He says that her husband obviously doesn't mind and that yes, she probably drives him crazy at times, but he loves her so he does what he has to. He said that he loves me and that it was up to him whether or not he sticks around. Our problems have nothing to do with being bipolar. He's like LET ME HELP YOU - we can do this.

I was in the ER last Sunday (still have the big ass bruise to prove it) because he asked me to go. I had to laugh cuz Crystal and I went to Wal Mart first. I was in a LOT of pain so she said - you're getting in the Amigo cart or the wheel chair. I told her no, that I'd be okay. Well, I'm a dumb ass and she has Kinte's phone numbers. She TOLD ON ME and said - talk to your girlfriend. He's like I'll try, but it probably won't work. So he says - just cooperate and don't give her anymore trouble. *sighs* Ain't that a bitch? So I got in the stupid Amigo... I bitched the entire time... but I did it. And then I called him when we got out and he called back when we were at the restaurant and he sounded SO worried. This makes me sound pathetically attention starved but I about cried because he cared enough to worry.

Speaking of the hospital, I'm happy to say I don't have endometriosis. My pain was due to my diabetes and my blood pressure.

Okay so there's an update on me. I PROMISE I'll start updating more. Daily even. LOL.
